The first customer of my shift? Marlon Wayans. I actually had no idea that he was a celebrity of any sort. After he left the shop:
Coworker: Did you know that was Marlon Wayans?
Me: Who?
Coworker: You know. White Chicks? Scary Movie? In Living Color?
Me: Um. Not really.
Coworker: Oh. Okay.
Me: …
He came in because they were filming Little Man a block away. I still don’t really know who he is. But in case some crazy rabid Marlon Wayans fan finds this blog: he likes soy chai. I made it really crappily, but I didn’t bother fixing it because I didn’t know that he was a celebrity.
I finally uploaded and tagged my grad photos in my Flickr account. What this means is that all my photos from the past three years are now online and neatly organized. Want to just see pictures of me? Or of Jer, Andrew, Jen or Frannie? Or what about photos of the orca statues, stuffed animals or at playgrounds? Photo albums are good, but tags makes photo sharing more fun.

I’ve lost quite a bit of weight since school started. Especially in the last two weeks, I’ve noticed that a lot of my clothes feel looser than usual. All my t-shirts are small or extra-small, but only about two are form-fitting right now. The rest are loose and some are quite baggy. My dress jeans are extremely loose around the waist - I tried wearing them without a belt and I ended up walking on them with the backs of my heels the whole day.
For whatever reason, I just haven’t been feeling hungry lately. Some days, I lived on a bowl of cereal and a small sandwich and I was fine. I don’t want to lose any more weight though, so I’ve been trying to eat more in the past few days. I had cereal, a cheese stick, a peanut butter cookie, half a tuna sandwich, a quarter pound of prawns, a bowl of rice and salmon today. Oops, forgot my veggies.
I wonder what I weigh now. I haven’t really checked since our scale went wonky, which was probably over a year ago. I just weighed myself now on our broken scale and it says I’m 70 pounds.
Update: I weighed myself at London Drugs today. I’m 130 pounds.

Simon and I went shopping downtown yesterday and he picked out lots of different shoes for me. I found it hard to find shoes that I really liked, except this pair he picked out for me at Zara on Robson. I was a bit hesitant about them at first, but they quickly grew on me, so I got them. They’re comfortable, fit well and look good. Simon was pretty enthusiastic about them and everybody so far has said they’re good, so I’m happy with them. It was lots of fun just browsing through all the different shops too.
We looked around Pacific Centre and went to Holt Renfrew, where Simon bought an incredibly expensive jacket. I tried to convince him not to get it, but I kinda knew the whole time that my efforts were in vain. It looks really good on him though!
After work, I went with Andrew and Frannie on their iPod Nano extravaganza, which was fun. So, in total, my friends and I spent about $1750 in one day. We are a frugal bunch.

The shoelaces in my runners frayed really badly a few weeks ago. I don’t know how this happened, but parts of the lace became really thin while others became really thick. In an attempt to be frugal, I decided to try to just replace the laces, rather than buying new shoes outright even though my mom has been nagging me get new shoes for the past year. But it turns out that the new laces I bought are too thick for the shoe holes. This is especially annoying because I had to cut out the old laces since I had such difficulty removing them manually. My shoes are unwearable, since they don’t have laces so I have to rely on my dress shoes for now.
So, I need new shoes. After a quick look online, I kinda like these, these, these and these. Any suggestions? Or better yet, does anybody want to go shoe shopping with me?
It’s too bad I need to spend money on shoes. I’d much rather spend the money on a waffle-making robot.
