20 = 2/3 x 30

So, my twentieth birthday party last night went off without a hitch, largely thanks to Alicia, Chrissy and Emma, who helped me organize it! I was all panicky in the morning because I hadn’t finished planning yet - I was really worried that the whole thing would end up being a big disaster, but it seemed to turn out well!

I was happy that so many people could come celebrate with me. I hope you all had fun participating in my Amazing Race party! If you took pictures, remember to add them to the Flickr group pool when you get a chance.

Alicja, Ben, Jackie, San: Thanks for the spa gift certificate and products! Rest assured that it is well appreciated and will definitely be put to good use. I can’t wait to go! Also, happy birthday Alicja, birthday twin!
Alicia, Andrew, Ang, Chrissy, Emma, Frannie, Jen, Mike, Suzy: I love the American Apparel jacket! The cake was super yummy too - thanks for taking the time to get it for me!
Betsy, George: Thanks for buying me dinner! That was so sweet of you guys!
Betsy: How did you know that I wanted The Screwtape Letters? I’ve been meaning to get a copy of it for a while, but never got around to it. Also, thanks for my first-ever environmentally-friendly birthday scroll!
Victor: Thanks for the Sudoku book - now I’ve got something to do during my long commute to and from work!

Thanks everyone for making my twentieth birthday an unforgettable one.

Thank you for the extra foam

I felt unsettlingly hipster walking home today with my new horn-rimmed glasses, my iPod and my disappointingly crappy Frappuccino.

I have never been to New York
Surprisingly enough, I’ve had two Frappuccinos this week. I’ve had very few of the things since I quit working at Starbucks three years ago, so it’s been a while. The new bananas and creme is good, but the banana coconut tastes really fake.

I’ve noticed lately that whenever I find myself at a Starbucks, it seems that the baristi are fairly slow. Today, the cashier was clearly new, which was fine. Except that she had to swipe my credit card many, many times before she gave me my receipt. I hope I didn’t get charged multiple times.

The barista at the bar was really slow as well. I waited at least ten minutes for my drink, even though it wasn’t busy. While I was waiting, this woman went on and on about how she’s being healthy by not drinking alcohol and having double-blended, no-whip, light Frappuccinos. And then my drink sucked. What a waste of four dollars.

All in all, it was quite a different experience than this one.

Ding dong

My cell phone’s dead. The screen spontaneously decided to not work anymore, rendering it useless.

I think this is my chance to break away from Rogers and move to Fido or Telus. What this means is that I probably won’t have the same phone number anymore, so it might not be in your best interest to call or text my old number.

If you’ve got any new phone suggestions, let me know!

Bus error

I made a grave mistake when I signed up for Young Drivers, Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15pm to 9:15pm. The final session will be held on Wednesday, May 17th. By the time I get home, it will be about 10:30pm.

This season of The Amazing Race will culminate in the special two-hour finale from 8pm to 10pm on May 17th. It will be the first finale I’ve missed since I began watching the show. Hopefully, it won’t be as dull as last night’s episode, full of frustratingly counter-competitive bunching.

Shirts!

Threadless is having a sale.

My birthday is in 26 short days.
