Clean!

So, today’s my first day of freedom without the family. Dad took off for his LA trip this morning, so I’ve got the house to myself until Tuesday. It’s not much, but I’ll take it.

After running errands in the morning, the first thing on my list was to throw away all the old, gross food in the freezer and fridge that can’t be thrown away in front of my parents. It’s mostly my mom who gets angry when I try to throw away icky two-week-old food, but I figured it would be best to wait until dad was gone too. Doing the dishes while blaring my iPod through the speakers makes it so much more fun.

Next, I cleaned up my room to get ready for tonight’s sleepover and cleared out a lot of old papers and junk that I didn’t want anymore. Who cares about Statistics, anyways? I was tempted to chuck out all my Music notes too, but decided against that. Not that I ever read any of it in the first place, but I figure it would be good reference.

And now, I’m in the midst of doing laundry. I finally decided that my iPod socks needed to be washed, so I put them in the washing machine with the rest of my clothes. I figured that they’re pretty much regular socks cut in a different shape so it would be safe to machine wash them. And I was right! They’re clean now and have also returned to their original shape, since they got stretched out over the past year that I’ve had them.

I also tried to shrink my I’m Shy t-shirt, but chucking it in the dryer didn’t seem to work.

It feels so good to get everything the way I want, so I’m going to go around and vacuum, dust and clean some more.
